Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations – Jubilee Plaque Unveiling, Beacon Lighting & Fireworks

From 9pm
Everyone is invited to gather on the Rec, near the war memorial. 
Sunset 9.07pm – dress warm, bring a torch and a brolly!
9.15pm
Representing Her Majesty The Queen, the Lord-Lieutenant for Essex, Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst, arrives in uniform. 
Received by Simon Plater, Chair of Parish Council, District and Parish Councillors, Royal British Legion Standard and Scouts in uniform
9.20pm
Lord-Lieutenant unveils the Blue Plaque celebrating the recent planting of 400 trees in the village as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy – “Plant a tree for the Jubilee”.
9.30pm
Last Post, to commemorate those men from Tollesbury who fell in WW1, for whom trees were planted on the Rec a century ago.
One Minute’s Silence 
Reveille, followed by a prayer and blessing. (Bugler John Jones; Vicar Tracey Caswell).

Royal Proclamation (Alex Neal) followed by Majesty Fanfare on the bugle.
9.45pm
Lighting of the Jubilee Beacon by the Lord-Lieutenant
As beacon is lit a choir sings a Song for the Commonwealth
This ceremonial moment of celebration is being conducted across the nation at this time.
10pm
Fireworks Display
10.15pm
Ceremony complete. Lord-Lieutenant departs.
