This month, we would like to introduce you to …
Caroline Page
Vice-Chair
Caroline joined the Council in 2022. She had taken early retirement in 2021 from her working life as an accountant. With strong family connections in Tollesbury and a love for the village, she had been interested in becoming a Parish Councillor for some time, and so after taking the plunge, hasn’t looked back and recently became Vice-chair.
With a passion for numbers (not most people’s idea of fun), Caroline went straight on to the Finance & Policy Committee and now finds herself as Chair of that committee. This involves various aspects of the council’s finances and looking at council policies and regulations.
Caroline is also the Vice-chair of the Environment & Amenity Committee. This involves various aspects of village amenities such as allotments, cemetery, street lighting and bus shelter. As a keen gardener herself, a particular interest is to regularly go with the team to the allotments site and see the benefits of the work put in by those tenants who take such pride in “growing their own”.
In her “spare time”, Caroline volunteers for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and sits as a volunteer panel member at school appeals hearings. She also enjoys sea wall walks with her dog and long-distance walking with friends around the region.
Her commitment to the Council reflects her gratitude for living in Tollesbury and she is glad to be able to give something back.
Finally, you will see that her strong belief is….you can never have too many tomatoes on toast.
